School districts, charter schools, and BOCES are required to annually submit to NYSED certain demographic and professional assignment data for teachers and non-teaching professional personnel that they employ.
The Office of Information and Reporting Services prepares annual statistical summaries of these data that are available here for download. Each school year’s file includes counts of staff by age, gender, average salary and salary percentiles, years of professional educational experience, and degrees. The data are aggregated by building (school) and district, and can be filtered by geographic region, county, and other criteria.

Available here for download are files containing counts by gender and race/ethnicity of teaching and non-teaching professional staff. The data are aggregated by building and district. In order to protect personally identifiable information, data on principals and charter school leaders are aggregated by geographic region and Needs Resource Capacity.
