Educator Data for Teachers and Professional Staff

NYSED’s Educator Data Collection

The ºÚÁϹÙ꿉۪s Office of Information and Reporting Services collects and reports data on approximately 300,000 teachers and non-teaching professionals in public school districts, charter schools, and BOCES. Data are collected to meet State and federal reporting requirements and are made available on NYSED’s . See the SIRS Manual for information on reporting educator data to the SIRS (Student Information Repository System) and BEDS IMF site for additional reporting requirements.

Additional Information Related to Educator Data

Statistical data on educators can be found in the Personnel Master File (PMF).

Educator certifications are managed in the NYSED Office of Teaching Initiative’s TEACH System. Use the Search Certification Requirements site or OTI for information about requirements for classroom teacher and other school certifications.

The Course to Certification Crosswalk contains mappings of courses to the certifications that are considered allowable for teaching them. The crosswalk is available to help districts ensure that teachers are appropriately certified for teaching assignments: 2025-26 .
